Planning a Swiss Ski Vacation this Winter
The local ski club here is planning a trip to Switzerland this winter. At first, I thought I could never afford it, but then I learned that there would not be expensive hotel fees involved. Moreover, we would be saving on restaurants by cooking at home in a large Portes du Soleil ski chalet.
The trip will spend 3 days at Portes du Soleil and then move on to ski 4 valleys and Verbier. I looked up Verbier’s ski resort on the internet and it may be the most beautiful ski resort that I’ve ever seen.
While doing research on where to go, the ski club said that there were numerous ski apartments in Switzerland that could be used if we wanted to extend the trip beyond the planned 8 days. I’m not planning on extending our trip as I know we’ll be tired after six days of hard skiing, but it’s good to know.
We plan to purchase our airline tickets at Expedia or Travelocity as I know they both have good rates. Since we planned the trip, I’ve been reading a lot more about Switzerland from the Swiss tourism office and I’m really excited to go. Since my divorce, I’ve been dating a girl I met on an online dating service and she loves to ski so I’m going to ask her to go along with my kids over Christmas break.
